JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for purchasing workflows that enable the project delivery teams to succeed. The foundation created by this position includes master purchase agreements, special pricing agreements, and controlling all module orders. The efforts of this position will serve Sun Tribe Solar’s commercial and utility construction business and advise the internal development engineering group. This position is intended to build and lead Sun Tribe Solar’s internal procurement group. This position is based out of STS headquarters in Charlottesville VA.
The senior procurement manager reports directly to VP of Commercial Construction and interfaces regularly with project management teams, development and project engineering, STS accounting department, and external suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Deliverables
- Establish and maintain forward cost curves for major solar PV equipment: Modules and Inverters
- Establish and optimize purchasing workflows
- Procure all modules
- Draft standard terms and conditions for purchase orders
- Review redlines to purchase order terms and conditions
- Coordinate bulk equipment orders
- Maintain database of historical pricing to inform estimating group
- Establish and maintain approved vendor database
- Advise management on human resource requirements
- Establish procurement related metrics to measure team and individual success
Supplier Relationships
- Negotiate and execute Master Purchase Agreements favorable to STS
- Negotiate favorable payment terms under the purchase agreements
- Negotiate Special Pricing Agreements favorable to STS
- Perform manufacture and supplier facility audits
- Maintain visibility, communicate, and increase vendor credit limits when possible
