Supply Chain Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for establishing, strengthening, and maintaining Sun Tribe relationships with major material suppliers to deliver optionality and cost competitive options to project teams. The Supply Chain Manager will be the subject matter expert on forward cost curves for major materials and will maintain a database for lead time, availability, and pricing. This position will be the single point of contact between Sun Tribe and its module suppliers.

The Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Supply Chain Director.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vendor Qualification, Relationships and Negotiation
    • Qualify suppliers and equipment to be included on Sun Tribe’s approved vendor list (AVL)
    • Coordinate engineering due diligence for the AVL
    • Establish and maintain supplier relationships for major materials (modules, inverters & racking)
    • Negotiate Master Supply Agreements for major materials including key favorable terms & conditions
    • Negotiate Special Pricing Agreements & Master Supply Agreements for major materials
    • Maintain database of pricing and lead times for all equipment on the AVL
  • Project-Level Management
    • Review module purchase orders and deliver to suppliers
    • Maintain database of current information for all module orders
    • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to process invoices for modules
    • Secure lien releases from module suppliers
    • Conduct project kick off module procurement meeting
    • Coordinate material schedule delivery with Project Management team
  • Procurement Strategy
    • Continually to drive down to lowest possible major material pricing
    • Maintain forward cost curves for major materials
    • Understand the mechanisms behind Sun Tribe’s project agreements (PPA, APA, MIPA) to inform purchasing strategy
    • Hold weekly cross-departmental coordination meetings for major materials
    • Maintain constant understanding of Sun Tribe pipeline to leverage purchasing power

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in supply chain management, construction project management, procurement, or project finance: preferably on electrical or solar PV projects
  • Experience with project management software such as MS Project (or equivalent CPM scheduling software), MS Excel, and construction management platforms (e.g. Procore, PlanGrid)
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Honest, reliable, self-aware and conscientious
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills
